The Practice of Showing Up

We often celebrate big achievements. The milestones, the finished projects and the moments when everything finally comes together.

What receives less attention are the ordinary days.

We all have those days when our enthusiasm is low and when progress feels really slow. We moan that the outcome isn't yet visible.

I've come to realise that much of life isn’t shaped by dramatic moments, but by one’s decision to keep turning up.

Turning up to study.

Turning up for conversations.

Turning up for work.

Turning up for ourselves, even when we don't feel particularly inspired!

Progress develops so gradually that we only recognise it when we look back and notice how far we've travelled.

Showing up isn't about perfection and it isn't about always feeling confident or motivated.

It's about trusting that consistent steps forward have value, even when they do feel insignificant at the time.

Perhaps that's where lasting change begins—not with one extraordinary day, but with the ordinary choice to keep going.
